Blessings from today…

  • A beautiful walk this morning with the sun just coming up over the mountains.
  • I finally cleaned out the inside of my car yesterday, and so I didn't feel like I was driving to church in a mobile trash heap.
  • The kids were fun at the 9:00 AM service, and a parent did a great job on the story!
  • Folks were enthusiastic about both the liturgy and the Fourth of July at the 10:30 service.
  • The Port of Subs kids got the giggles when they saw a priest at their drive-up window at lunchtime.  I forgot to take my collar off before stopping.
  • A great mesquite grilled chicken sandwich!
  • A nap!
  • Evening prayer.
  • Spending time practicing my cello this evening.  Fred and I are actually getting better (Yes, I named my cello Fred.)
  • Getting a head start on next week's sermon!
  • A gentle summer evening with a nice breeze.

  1. Sounds like a lovely day.
Why don't you get Fred to practise on his own while you are out doing other things? That way, you will have a goal to aim for and he will have done most of the work.
    Just a thought!

  2. Now that would be a neat trick. I'll mention it to Fred.

  3. It is great to be reminded of the little blessing that surround us everyday. They mold us at a greater rate than the big blessings do; we just seem to overlook them.
    Peace…

  4. Sounds like it was an ideal Sunday, although I would have included a nap.

  6. HaShem is indeed pleased when His creation praises Him even for the simple and mundane.
