Wow! DOMA ruled unconstitutional and the Prop 8 appeal dismissed. I have to say, I'm a bit surprised after yesterday's ruling on voting rights. Perhaps we are beginning, in our own time, to understand what it means in our baptismal vows to "... respect the dignity of every human being."
Now, let's take that same understanding and extend it to feeding the poor, housing the homeless, educating our children, and providing health care to everyone. May this awaken compassion for all who are marginalized in our society.
